Transportation

Connected transportation systems are critical to your operations. The right security keeps them running reliably, ensures you meet regulatory requirements, and lets you focus on growth instead of managing incidents.

Protecting the systems your operations depend on

Trucking, rail and transit organizations move goods and people every day. You do it reliably, on schedule, at scale. Your dispatch platforms, fleet management systems and integrated logistics networks are how you deliver that. As these systems become more connected, with real-time tracking, automated scheduling and vendor integration, you gain efficiency and operational insight. That connectivity is your competitive advantage. It also means rethinking your security.

Securing transportation isn't like securing a traditional corporate network. It means understanding operational systems that run 24/7. It means accounting for vendor dependencies that are core to your logistics. It means recognizing the specific regulatory environment you operate in. Security has to be built for that reality.

What connected transportation has to account for

Connected transportation systems come with real considerations. Each one has a clear path forward.

Dispatch and routing system reliability

Group 76

Maintain real-time dispatch operations with security that protects your routing systems without adding friction or downtime.

Ransomware recovery of operational data

Group 76

Recover quickly from ransomware targeting fleet manifests and scheduling systems, with the systems that move freight restored first.

Vendor integration and supply-chain visibility

Group 76

Gain clarity into vendor connections that are core to your logistics, including what each one can reach inside your environment.

Fleet telematics and location data protection

Group 76

Secure real-time vehicle data and routing intelligence, which is commercially sensitive in its own right.

Driver and personnel data security

Group 76

Protect employee information so you meet privacy obligations and maintain the trust your team depends on.

Transportation regulatory compliance

Group 76

Navigate federal, provincial, and sector-specific rules with documentation and incident response built for your environment.

Which cybersecurity regulations apply to Canadian transportation operators?

Transportation is one of the sectors designated under Bill C-8, which brings cyber security obligations and incident reporting requirements to federally regulated critical infrastructure. Transport Canada carries its own security requirements by mode, and employee and customer information falls under PIPEDA or its provincial equivalents. Operators crossing jurisdictions often carry several of these at once.

We work with you to map which apply to your operation and what each one asks of your security program.

How security fits transportation operations

  • Protection without operational pauses: dispatch systems, fleet telematics, rail networks run 24/7. Security gets deployed without forcing downtime for patches or maintenance windows.

  • Visibility across geographic dispersion: whether your fleet spans provinces or your rail network crosses jurisdictions, you get continuous visibility without geographic or jurisdictional blind spots.

  • Monitoring across fleet and facility systems: continuous coverage of the vehicle, terminal and back-office systems that keep freight and passengers moving.
